Packing For Your Trip

Have you started your trip countdown yet? I know that when my trip starts to approach one thought floods into my brain: What in the world am I going to wear?

Planning in advance is key. You don't want to be scrambling through the depths of your closet or running to the mall at the last minute. Really think about what activities you'll be participating in throughout your trip. Your attire selections will vary depending on what you want to do while visiting your destination. Plus, you have to consider that every resort has unique dress code requirements

Here are some tips to get you started:

Daytime - Casual

If you're heading to have a light bite to eat or just hanging out around your hotel, you can usually keep it casual. Be sure to avoid uncovered swimsuits outside the pool or beach areas.

Packing Ideas:

Casual Shirts

Shorts

Sundresses

Athletic Shoes

Sandals

Daytime - Active

Participating in activities typically requires different attire. Longer shorts or pants and close-toed shoes are a good idea in this case. Consider bringing sunscreen or bug repellant for water sports and activities in the wilderness.

Packing Ideas:

Long Sleeve Shirts

Long Shorts or Pants

Close-toed Shoes

Sunscreen

Bug Repellent

Evening - Elegant

Resort dress codes vary at dinner, but most are casually elegant. A light sweater is a good idea for cool nights and air conditioning. Restaurants may deny entry for outfits outside of the dress code, including shorts, sneakers, or sandals.

Packing Ideas:

Dresses

Blouses and Collared Shirts

Long Pants or Khakis — Jeans can be OK sometimes

Dress Sandals and Dress Shoes

Evening - Formal

Upscale venues, like restaurants and casinos may be formal, but you won't need to wear a tuxedo or an evening gown.

Packing Ideas:

Cocktail Dresses

Button-Up Shirt plus a Tie or Jacket

Pant Suits

Dress Pants

Accessories

Remember that not all resorts and destinations are exactly alike, and these are just general recommendations. Be sure to review the dress codes for your hotel and activities. If you have any questions, please let us know.
